Mediterranean Storm
Sibilant sounds of the salty sea,
The cacophonous clamoring--
Over and under, over and under--
Waves that tore asunder
The soul of Icarus fallen free.
Foam formed from the orchestral motion
Of the crashing, thrashing ocean--
Open and close, open and close--
Snow angel in amorous throes,
By which Venus was borne to shore...
The turbulent wax and wane of the moon's tides
Breaks upon the black craggy rock-side--
Pounding and pouring, pounding and pouring--
Doomed and tragic Greeks warring
Battered and broken bodies against the Trojan walls.
Wait awhile and the storm will abate.
In time the Undine soul will sate--
ebb and flow, live and die--
The sea is the edge of the sky
Of Neptune's sandy shores below.
